Nyungwe is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa, in southwestern Rwanda, and home to 13 species of primates.

It is a place for active adventure as well as wildlife: cross the canopy, fly through the treetops, follow chimpanzees and hike to waterfalls with local guides.

Good to know

  • Activities in the park are guided.
  • The dry months, June to September and December to February, are usually the easiest.
  • Bring a rain jacket and layers. The forest is cool and wet.
